MICRO EVENTSWith  Britt Hatzius (DE/UK) duration: 3-8 min MICRO EVENTS is a series of cinematic experiences for one person at a time. Each ‘event’ comprises of a small wooden table, a microscope and a soundtrack which accompanies the partial view onto tiny fragments of material remains that are  fixed onto a moving mechanical platform. In focusing on the discrepancy between what we are told we are seeing and what we are actually looking at, the detailed descriptions, speculations, unstable verifications and often absurd or humorous associations subtly subvert an assumed authority of scientific classification. In this sense, the collaborative work is informed by a mutual curiosity in the mechanics of knowledge production and the way language can give value to minute things that might otherwise be considered worthless.
